A bottle of Gisborne Peak wine carries with it a special piece of our 'pleasant place'. In each bottle you take away, there is some of our sense of pride.
When the first grapes were sold to another winery in 1988 we couldn't wait to get a sample bottle of the wine. It's the same now. Each year we eagerly wait to taste the fruits of our labour.
At first we taste the very green 'end of ferment' barrel samples, later we taste it again after it has been racked and fined. Finally we get to check it one last time after it has rested and is ready for bottling. At each stage we look for the flavours and characters we hope will show out in the finished bottled wine. Let me tell you early barrel samples are a far cry from the finished product, sometimes we wonder and marvel at the changes that take place over a relatively short time as the wine is prepared for bottling.
We then look to the day when we can release that wine backed with our pride in the product.
Today we invite you to share in our pride and to buy some of our unique product. It is unique, no other place replicates the climate, soil and vineyard management techniques exactly the same as we have here at Gisborne Peak.
Taste the unique wines of Gisborne Peak.
