Let me introduce myself.... I'm Vinnie the Vine and I'm freezing cold at the moment!  I'm out here in the vineyard, the most important place on this property!  I'm going to be getting my two-cents in via the GPW Facebook page, so keep coming back to learn what is happening here at the grassroots level.  Get it?  Grassroots.  Speaking of roots, mine go down about 5 feet in this clay soil, so believe me when I tell you that I'm TOUGH!  Frozen stiff at the moment, but tough. 

I'm currently getting my annual haircut.  Brian and Leith are in the middle of pruning me and all my mates out here.  Snip - there goes another cane.  Glad to be rid of them to tell you the truth.  Need some new ones, come Spring.  These old ones did their job, gave the owners some great grapes.  I even heard Bob say it was one of the best vintages ever.  Now I've been here since.... about 1988 (I'm one of the origianl Chardonnay vines planted on the property) and I would probably have to agree with him.

Hey, I actually saw Barbara out here the other day - thought she must be lost.  It's a rare day when she sets foot in the vines.  I kept quiet - you never know her mood!
